The Official and Unofficial backstory timelines now as narrated videos (by me!)

I recently posted the official Planetside 2 backstory timeline as well and the unofficial timeline to the blog in text form. Now I have made a set of narrated videos, with the Planetside soundtrack in the background and a slideshow of images. You can watch them here.

The Planetside 2 Lore Timeline

The Planetside lore only what describes what happens up until the landing on Auraxis in 2643, then there is a 200-year gap in the lore from the landing until the war starts (read the official timeline here). A lot remains unexplained, like how did Auraxian civilisation develop in the 200 years before the war? Where did the warpgates and rebirthing technology come from? Why did it take 200 years for the war to break out?

I attempt to answer all of these questions and more in this unofficial Planetside 2 lore timeline. They will all be posted over the next week or so. Let me know what you think! Is it lore-friendly? Do you think something else happened that I haven’t written about?

As the dropship approached the target from 300m above, Taylor was struck by the beauty of the scene. Three fully-laden galaxies of Bear platoon’s air assault fleet droned alongside his own, flak bursts popping all around them like fireworks. Strobes of blue and purple tracers illuminated the dying sun over Indar, the shimmering biolab dome glinting with every passing shot.

At the landing pad he could just make out hurried figures making final defensive preparations; a cluster of Vanu infantry ready to open fire the moment Alpha squad hit the tarmac. Despite being encased in the safety of his MAX suit, Taylors’ heart beat a mile a minute at the thought of the painful duty to come.

Terran Republic call to arms added

Hi all,

I just added a short piece to the site entitled ‘Terran Republic call to arms’. It’s a short speech by a Terran leader explaining why they hate the New Conglomerate and Vanu Sovereignty so much, and why the Republic must fight.

I’m planning on writing one for the Vanu Sovereignty too soon, to complete the triad :).
